DAFF have recently issued a notice to industry outlining they are seeing an increased number of imported used machines with high levels of Biosecurity Risk Material (BRM).

In 2013 DAFF has already directed seven consignments for re-export from Australia. And 19 consignments for 2012.

Importers are responsible for ensuring all machinery meets DAFF Import Conditions and is adequately dismantled and cleaned before import.
If import conditions are breached, it may result in the import permit for that organisation being revoked.

DAFF provides information on Machinery cleanliness and procedures for importing machinery into Australia.
